 ZIPPER MEASUREMENTS
The end use of a Zipper is also determined by its size /length and care should be taken while measuring it. This can be done (with the zipper closed) either:

·         From the bottom end of the bottom stop or the retaining box to the top of the slider

·         From the bottom end of the bottom stop or the retaining box to the top stop

·         Or from the end of the major portion to the tip.   

Standard for measuring zipper dimension

closed-end zipper From the top end of the slider to the tip of the bottom stop From the top stop to the tip of notches of the cut end From the bottom stop to the tip of notches of the cut end
Zipper with double sliders (arranged head-to-head) From the tip of the bottom stop to the tip of the other bottom stop  From the upper bottom stop to the tip of notches of the cut end From the tip of the bottom stop to the tip of notches of the cut end
Zipper with double sliders (arranged bottom-to-bottom) From the top end of one slider to the top end of the other slider From the top stop to the tip of notches of the cut end Same as the top element-free end portion
Tape with a top stop bridging opposed stringers From the tip of the top stop bridging opposed stringers to the tip of notches of the cut end From the tip of the top stop bridging opposed stringers to the tip of notches of the cut end From the tip of the bottom stop to the tip of notches of the cut end
Open-end zipper From the top end of the slider to the tip of the open part From the top stop to the cut end  
Reversible open-end zipper From the top end of the slider to the bottom end of the supplementary tape From the top stop to the cut end  
Top open zipper From the top stop to the tip of the open part    
Loop zipper From the top end of the element to the tip of the open part    
Reversible slider Rather than from the top end, measurement should be made from the shoulder inlet portion of the slider From the top stop to the cut end  
When the top stop does not enter the slider  Measurement should be made from the top stop From the top stop to the tip of notches of the cut end
